Eligibility elimination from the IVR

The option to obtain patient eligibility information from the interactive voice response (IVR) system has been eliminated. Access to patient eligibility information is available in SPOT, our free online portal.

Implementation

This requirement was effective for all JN providers effective December 1. 

SPOT enrollment

If you are currently enrolled for SPOT, please begin using the Eligibility feature in SPOT today for all patient eligibility requests. If changes are needed to your existing setup, refer to the SPOT account updates webpage for instructions.

If you are not currently enrolled for SPOT, complete the steps below today to begin the enrollment process today: 

  1. Click the appropriate link below to access the SPOT enrollment form and detailed instructions. Follow all instructions carefully to complete and submit the form properly. Any incorrect or missing information will extend the enrollment timeframe.
    1. Providers - follow the instructions for completing the EDI SPOT enrollment form for provider organizations.
    2. Billing services/Clearinghouses - follow the instructions for completing the EDI SPOT enrollment form for third-party organizations.
  2. After the enrollment form is approved, the office approver whose name was provided on the enrollment form will need to request their SPOT role and set up the organization. Follow the SPOT approver instructions.
  3. After the office approver role is approved, any additional person needing access to SPOT may request their role. Each person will need their own user ID.
    1. The office backup approver whose name was provided on the enrollment form would follow the instructions for requesting the SPOT backup approver role.
    2. All other individuals would follow the instructions for requesting the SPOT end user role. There is no limit to the number of end users per office.
